Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Niger State Police Command has announced that a total of 56 tricycles and 94 motorcycles have been impounded since the enforcement of the 6 pm to 6 am movement restriction for tricycles and motorcycles began on Wednesday, 23 April 2025.<\/p>\n

The command made this known in a statement regarding updates on the enforcement, issued by the Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, in Minna.<\/p>\n

Abiodun stated that so far, the step taken by the Niger State Government is eradicating phone snatching and other robberies in Minna metropolis.<\/p>\n

He explained that while private motorcycles are exempt, owners must provide proper identification and a valid reason for being out during restricted hours to avoid impoundment.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very important to note that even as private motorcycles are exempted, we have seen some persons using Jincheng motorcycles to engage in skeletal commercial activities at night. Therefore, any private motorcycle owner who cannot provide a satisfactory account of themselves, with proper identification as staff of an organisation, coming from work, or for any other important reason, may have their vehicle impounded,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The command urged motorcyclists and tricyclists to be law-abiding pending further directives from the state government, as the temporary measure is yielding positive results.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is because the measure is eradicating phone snatching and other robberies in the Minna metropolis.<\/p>\n
