{"id":160892,"date":"2025-04-29T18:52:16","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T17:52:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/nigerian-govt-creating-conditions-for-prosperity-minister"},"modified":"2025-04-30T19:49:21","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T18:49:21","slug":"nigerian-govt-creating-conditions-for-prosperity-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/nigerian-govt-creating-conditions-for-prosperity-minister","title":{"rendered":"Nigerian Govt creating conditions for prosperity \u2013 Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Minister of Innovation Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji has said Nigerian Government is defeating poverty by creating the conditions for prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>He made the statement on the occasion of the unveiling of the Sustainable Energy Access Project (SEAP) at Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Minister: \u201cThe Sustainable Energy Access Project (SEAP) is more than a technical solution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a powerful statement of belief \u2014 belief in the ingenuity of our people, the richness of our resources, and the boundless possibilities that arise when innovation meets bold leadership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough SEAP, we are building islands of economic oasis across all 774 Local Government Areas, empowering farmers, entrepreneurs, families, and entire communities with clean cooking solutions, productive power, sustainable transport, and new opportunities for growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recognize that poverty is not defeated by charity alone, but by creating the conditions for prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy delivering energy where it is needed most \u2014 in homes, farms, industries, and markets \u2014 SEAP will save families money, create jobs, boost agricultural productivity, and lay the foundation for an industrialized Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet us be reminded that no nation has achieved greatness without solving the fundamental challenge of energy. SEAP is Nigeria\u2019s answer: strategic, inclusive, and transformative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in his welcome address, the ALGON President, Engr. Bello Lawal, said: \u201cOur local governments, which is the third tier of government, are closer to the people and we are uniquely positioned to drive transformative change in communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, we continue to face multifaceted challenges that require innovative solutions and collaborative approaches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pressing issues of energy access, food security and community safety are not just sectoral concerns but fundamental prerequisites for sustainable development. When our communities lack power, agricultural productivity suffers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen insecurity threatens our farmers, food systems collapse, and when basic services are inaccessible, the social fabric of our communities breaks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis conference is dedicated to focus on three critical pillars: one\u2014 sustainable energy\u2014 access to affordable, reliable, and clean energy remains elusive for many of our communities. Yet, energy is the lifeblood of economic activity, and social progress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must enhance both rational and innovative approaches to expand energy access, with particular attention to renewable solutions that can be developed at the community level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo- agriculture\u2014 Agriculture remains the backbone of our local economies and the primary source of living for the majority of our citizens. Three\u2014 security\u2014 Without peace and security, development is impossible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe increasing complexity of security challenges at the local level demands new thinking and collaborative approaches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is why we have structured this conference to produce actionable outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA comprehensive framework for sustainable grassroot development, practical toolkits for procurement and distributors, strategic partnership development practices, private sectors, and civil organizations.
