{"id":161185,"date":"2025-05-02T23:00:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-02T22:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/bauchi-governor-calls-for-investigation-into-murder-of-ex-lg-chairman"},"modified":"2025-05-02T23:00:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-02T22:00:09","slug":"bauchi-governor-calls-for-investigation-into-murder-of-ex-lg-chairman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/bauchi-governor-calls-for-investigation-into-murder-of-ex-lg-chairman","title":{"rendered":"Bauchi governor calls for investigation into murder of ex-LG chairman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has called for a thorough investigation into the assassination of former Jama\u2019are Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Wabi.<\/p>\n<p>Wabi was allegedly murdered by associates of his son.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Mohammed, on behalf of the state government and its citizens, expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Jama\u2019are Emirate, and all those who were impacted by Wabi\u2019s life of service, humility and dedication to community development.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado on Friday, Mohammed condemned the incident, calling for a thorough, unbiased investigation by the Nigeria Police and other relevant security agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis tragic loss is not only a blow to the Wabi family but to the entire state,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The governor also appealed to parents and guardians across the state to focus on the moral upbringing of their children, stressing the need to address the deterioration of societal values to prevent similar tragedies.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Bala Mohammed prayed for the soul of Alhaji Isa Muhammad Wabi to find peace in Aljanna Firdaus and for his family to have the strength to endure this immense loss.<\/p>\n<p>The 66-year-old was reportedly stabbed to death at his Fadaman Mada residence in the early hours of Thursday, May 2, 2025, with police suggesting that his son\u2019s associates were behind the attack.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary police investigations point to Ahmad Abdulkadir, aka Abba, and Faruk Malami, aka Ajebo, who allegedly broke into Wabi\u2019s home around 3:00 am and attacked him with multiple stabs to the neck.<\/p>\n<p>Wabi was found in a critical state after a distress call from a concerned local and was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
