{"id":161397,"date":"2025-05-05T08:57:10","date_gmt":"2025-05-05T07:57:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/cabals-still-fighting-our-refinery-dangote"},"modified":"2025-05-05T10:05:31","modified_gmt":"2025-05-05T09:05:31","slug":"cabals-still-fighting-our-refinery-dangote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/cabals-still-fighting-our-refinery-dangote","title":{"rendered":"Cabals still fighting our refinery \u2013 Dangote"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Africa\u2019s richest man and president of Dangote Refinery, Aliko Dangote, has insisted that the \u2018cabal\u2019 in Nigeria\u2019s oil and gas sector is still fighting against the success of his 650,000 barrels per day plant.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote disclosed this, according to Semafor, a global news platform, at an investor forum in Lagos at the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cFor a very, very long time, those that have made a lot of money from government-subsidised oil imports into Nigeria were the ones trying to sabotage the $20 billion worth of refinery situated in Lekki, Lagos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He further stressed that \u201cthose groups have funded resistance to the Bola Tinubu government\u2019s removal of petrol subsidies and are opposed to the refinery operating easily in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Dangote was confident that the battle between him and the groups would be won, priding himself on being a long-time fighter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re fighting, and the fight is not yet finished.
