Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Niger State House of Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with security agencies in the state to ensure citizens\u2019 safety and well-being.<\/p>\n

The Speaker of the House, Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji gave this assurance during a courtesy visit from the Acting Assistant Controller-General, ACG, and Zonal Coordinator of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone \u2018D\u2019 Headquarters, Minna, Garba Tsalha Abubakar.<\/p>\n

He expressed enthusiasm about tapping into the experience of the Zonal Coordinator to enhance the correctional service\u2019s effectiveness in the state.<\/p>\n

The Speaker highlighted the Assembly\u2019s dedication to supporting the Service while noting the need to share challenges and collaborative solutions.<\/p>\n

Sarkindaji further highlighted the House\u2019s notable achievements, including the recent passage of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, aimed at improving justice administration in the state.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned ongoing efforts to amend the Thuggery Law to address prison congestion in Minna and ensure efficient justice delivery.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Abubakar commended the Speaker and Assembly members for the warm reception and acknowledged their legislative efforts.<\/p>\n

The ACG of NCS emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and support, recognizing the interdependence of the legislature, executive, and judiciary in promoting a safe and secure environment for citizens.<\/p>\n
