Ex international, Nwankwo Kanu has called on the Super Eagles<\/a> players to approach the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin with all sense of seriousness.<\/p>\n

The Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, who lauded the team\u2019s performance in their 2-2 draw against Ukraine in an international friendly game, stated that the players played beyond his expectation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we resume our 2021 AFCON qualifier against Benin, the team shouldn\u2019t allow the tempo to diminish. If we play against a team like Benin we must have to do well and if it\u2019s Brazil we must also have to well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Super Eagles must ensure that they raise the standard of their football and know that every game is very important for the team.<\/p>\n

Papilo as he was fondly called in his playing days, reiterated that the Players had a decent outing at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think everybody did very well at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. They got to the semi-final and would have loved to play in the final. However, whatever happens, happened for good.<\/p>\n
