Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria\u2019s openness to strategic global partnerships as he welcomed fresh investment initiatives from Qatar aimed at enhancing cooperation in agriculture and other key sectors.<\/p>\n

This statement was issued on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, during a meeting with Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, a senior special envoy from the Amir of Qatar and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n

The envoy conveyed Qatar\u2019s commitment to deepening bilateral ties and announced plans for a high-level Qatari business delegation to visit Nigeria in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

President Tinubu hailed the growing relationship between the two countries and described Qatar as a valuable and forward-thinking partner.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are grateful for this continued engagement. I am glad that the Amir of Qatar remembers and values the discussions from my 2024 state visit. Nigeria is ready to strengthen these brotherly relations and fulfil all bilateral agreements,\u201d the President stated.<\/p>\n

He directed key ministers, including those of Budget and Economic Planning, Information, and Foreign Affairs, to collaborate on ensuring the swift execution of the agreements reached with the Gulf nation.<\/p>\n

Tinubu also acknowledged Qatar\u2019s global efforts in peacebuilding and humanitarian support, drawing parallels between the two countries\u2019 shared challenges in addressing regional instability and promoting development.<\/p>\n

\u201cI commend Qatar\u2019s role in promoting global peace and its investment in human development. Like you, we face the dual task of combating terrorism while supporting our neighbours,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

President Tinubu highlighted Nigeria\u2019s economic reforms, which are aimed at creating an investor-friendly environment through tax system overhauls.<\/p>\n

He invited Qatari investors to tap into Nigeria\u2019s potential for food security and economic growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou won\u2019t find a better partner than Nigeria. We\u2019re seeing results from our hard choices, and we want to grow with our partners,\u201d Tinubu added.<\/p>\n

In addition, Dr Al-Khulaifi conveyed the Amir\u2019s strong interest in Nigeria as a strategic partner in Africa, particularly in the fields of agriculture, petrochemicals, and peacebuilding.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud of our relationship with Nigeria. Our collaboration goes beyond governments\u2014it includes our people. We believe there is significant room to do more together,\u201d the envoy said.<\/p>\n

Qatari companies are set to expand and enter the Nigerian market, boosting bilateral ties, according to Al-Khulaifi, who plays a key role in regional peace efforts.<\/p>\n
