Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Wednesday, presided over the 24th State Executive Council Meeting, expressing gratitude to council members, particularly the newly sworn-in commissioners, for their dedication and hard work since assuming office.<\/p>\n

In his opening remarks, the Governor commended the commissioners\u2019 contributions, emphasizing that their diligence has yielded tangible results.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very much happy and comfortable with the achievements recorded so far,\u201d he stated, urging them to sustain their commitment to Kano\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

This was contained in a statement by the Governor\u2019s Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on New Media, Hassan Tukur.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Governor Yusuf outlined significant progress made by his administration since the last council gathering, including the disbursement of the third tranche of N5 billion in pension payments, bringing the total paid to retirees to N16 billion in less than two years. He also highlighted the distribution of free school uniforms to reinforce the government\u2019s commitment to improving the education sector and the refurbishment of buses, with 12 allocated to facilitate transport for students in state-owned tertiary institutions.<\/p>\n

The Governor noted the commissioning of 5 kilometers of roads in Dawakin Kudu and Dawakin Tofa, equipped with solar-powered street lights to enhance mobility and security. He also commended the peaceful conduct of the Tijjaniya 2025 Maulud celebrations, which drew millions of attendees.<\/p>\n

Another major milestone highlighted was the opening of the Kura Garment Industry, expected to generate over 66,000 jobs, marking a significant step toward economic empowerment in Kano.<\/p>\n
