Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Felix Morka, has said that it was out of place for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to blame the ruling party for its internal crisis.<\/p>\n

Morka made this statement when he featured on on Channels Television\u2019s Politics Today on Monday, alongside former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan.<\/p>\n

According to him, the opposition cannot be blaming the APC for its predicament when the party does not have a settled national chairman and secretary.<\/p>\n

Morka was reacting to Ologbondiyan\u2019s claim that the recent defections of opposition leaders to the APC were as a result of threats of a witch-hunt by the ruling party.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst of all, I am sure that my brother (Ologbondiyan) does not mean a whole lot what he said because he can\u2019t possibly under any guise be blaming the APC for the utter dysfunction and immobility within the internal ranks of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party,\u201d Morka said.<\/p>\n

He queried how a party like the PDP, which according to him, cannot resolve issues surrounding its chairmanship and secretary, can be trusted to lead the country.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the former PDP spokesperson maintained that no matter how many opposition leaders the APC manages to attract, the party will still have to contend with millions of Nigerians in its bid to retain power in 2027.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut you know one thing, at the end of it all, it is going to be about the Nigerians\u2019 position.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou may pack all the 36 governors and put them in one boardroom and say they should declare for you. Have you packed the over 200 million Nigerians into the same boardroom? The answer is no,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

It will be recalled that last month, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, along with his predecessor Ifeanyi Okowa, several commissioners, and others, defected from the PDP to the APC.<\/p>\n

Following this, there is growing speculation that more governors may follow suit in the near future.<\/p>\n
