Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, alongside the National Executive Committee members visited the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday to witness defection of the three Senators from Kebbi State.<\/p>\n

Deputy President of the Senate Jibrin Barau who presided the plenary welcomed the August visitors and after announcing their presence in the Chambers, went further to announce the defection of Senator Adamu Aliero representing Kebbi Central Senatorial District to the APC.<\/p>\n

Also, the former leader of the 9th Senate representing Kebbi North Senatorial District, Yahaya Abdullahi was announced to have defected to the All Progressives Congress.<\/p>\n

Senator Garba Maidoki representing Kebbi South Senatorial District also defected in full watch of APC leadership<\/p>\n

Both lawmakers were of the former Peoples Democratic Party, cited crisis in their former party as reasons for their defection.<\/p>\n

In their formal letters of defection, the Senators said, they were convinced that President Bola Tinubu\u2019s \u2018Renewed Hope Agenda\u2019 was working despite daunting challenges of insecurity in the country.<\/p>\n
