Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, has demanded the relocation of old structures in communities around the Abuja International Airport.<\/p>\n

Nwebonyi made this call on the floor of the Senate during its plenary on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Nwebonyi, from Ebonyi State, is the Deputy Senate Chief Whip of senate.<\/p>\n

The senator claimed that he would want the environment around the airport to witness a complete infrastructural transformation ongoing in the FCT.<\/p>\n

Nwebonyi, therefore, urged the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to extend his development within the surroundings of Abuja Airport, insisting that the type of infrastructure within the environment does not represent a good image of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you descend into the Abuja airport, if you consider the view, you will agree with me that it is an eyesore and doesn\u2019t give a good image of the nation,\u201d the senator said.<\/p>\n

Responding to Nwebonyi\u2019s proposal, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, told him that the community is some people\u2019s village.<\/p>\n
