{"id":163557,"date":"2025-05-21T22:11:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-21T21:11:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/ondo-gunmen-kill-okada-rider-snatch-motorcycle"},"modified":"2025-05-21T23:18:44","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T22:18:44","slug":"ondo-gunmen-kill-okada-rider-snatch-motorcycle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/ondo-gunmen-kill-okada-rider-snatch-motorcycle","title":{"rendered":"Ondo: Gunmen kill okada rider, snatch motorcycle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A commercial motorcyclist identified as Nazifi Ibrahim has been killed by unknown assailants suspected to be motorcycle snatchers in Ore, Odigbo Local Council Area of Ondo State.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased motorcyclist, who hailed from Northern Nigeria, took a passenger to Alafia Street within Ore, where he was attacked and gruesomely murdered by the yet-to-be-identified motorcycle snatchers.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources within the area, the incident occurred on Tuesday at about 10:40 p.m., stressing that the incident had caused tension as Ibrahim was well known among his colleagues in the area.<\/p>\n<p>One of the sources stated that \u201cWe don\u2019t know what transpired between the deceased and the unknown assailants before he was shot dead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A police source who confirmed the incident to our correspondent said an investigation to unravel the culprits, with a view to facilitating their arrest and prosecution, has commenced.<\/p>\n<p>When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that \u201cyes, an incident occurred in Ore, and upon the receipt of the information, the DPO in Ore and his team moved to where the lifeless body of the victim was seen and his bike was carted away, according to an eyewitness account.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe command has launched an immediate manhunt for those responsible where the investigation continues.
