Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Chairman of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, in Cross River State, Anthony Bissong Attah, has described the continued endorsements of Governor Bassey Otu and President Bola Tinubu as more of a commercial enterprise than genuine political support.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview on Friday, Attah claimed that certain politicians have turned endorsements into a profitable venture, with many earning substantial sums in the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe current wave of endorsements is a business transaction for some enterprising politicians.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese endorsements will persist, and the same individuals will likely repeat them several times before the 2027 elections.\u201d<\/p>\n

He noted that some groups and individuals are expected to endorse the same political figures up to five times, leveraging the endorsements for financial gain.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach time the beneficiary fails to maintain the \u2018investment,\u2019 the terms of the deal change,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Attah also cautioned against taking these endorsements at face value, warning that some of today\u2019s supporters could become tomorrow\u2019s opponents. \u201cThis is politics,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

He dismissed the endorsements as media-driven spectacles with little substance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s more motion than movement, largely hyped in the media without significant political weight,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the wave of defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Attah expressed scepticism about their long-term impact, predicting that disillusionment would set in as internal tensions within the APC intensify.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs more people flood into the APC, a crack in the expendable army of traditional supporters is inevitable.<\/p>\n

\u201cA well-organized political party can seize the moment and take advantage of the coming implosion.\u201d<\/p>\n
