Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has ordered the immediate reintroduction of history lessons in all primary and secondary schools across the state.<\/p>\n

The directive followed a courtesy visit by the Kebbi State Scholars Association to the Government House on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

During the visit, professors and senior academics from various fields shared the association\u2019s goals, including collaborating with the government to drive development.<\/p>\n

Dr. Mansur Abubakar Warrah, a senior lecturer in History, Culture, and Religious Movements at Federal University Dutsinma, emphasized the importance of reviving history education to pass on the values and legacies of ancestors to younger generations.<\/p>\n

\u201cTeaching history can help reduce insecurity by protecting children from negative foreign cultural influences,\u201d Warrah said.<\/p>\n

He added that the infiltration of harmful foreign cultures has contributed to rising crime and distorted the values of youth.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstilling our rich cultural heritage, such as decency, good manners, and etiquette, at the basic education level will help shape children into law-abiding and productive citizens,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Governor Idris expressed his full support for the initiative and directed the Ministry of Education to immediately resume history lessons across all schools in Kebbi State.<\/p>\n
