Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has sympathised with the people of Mokwa Local Government Area over the recent devastating flood in the area that led to the loss of many lives and property.<\/p>\n

The governor, in a message through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described the incident as saddening, heartbreaking and pathetic, especially with the resultant loss of many lives and property.<\/p>\n

\u201d I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and property in the unfortunate incident, and pray that Allah will grant the deceased Aljanna Firdausi as well as grant a quick recovery to the injured,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Bago directed the Niger State Emergency Management Agency and other relevant stakeholders to take immediate necessary actions, as well as assess the situation to ascertain the level of destruction, with a view to bringing succour to those affected.<\/p>\n

He called on the people of Mokwa to remain calm, as the state government would work tirelessly to ensure the safety of everyone.<\/p>\n

The deadly flood ravaged Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa communities in Mokwa town after several hours of heavy downpour, which led to the loss of lives and many buildings being submerged.<\/p>\n
