{"id":164913,"date":"2025-05-30T10:16:27","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T09:16:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/rivers-no-reason-there-wont-be-peace-with-my-boss-fubara"},"modified":"2025-05-30T11:19:42","modified_gmt":"2025-05-30T10:19:42","slug":"rivers-no-reason-there-wont-be-peace-with-my-boss-fubara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/rivers-no-reason-there-wont-be-peace-with-my-boss-fubara","title":{"rendered":"Rivers: No reason there won\u2019t be peace with my boss \u2013 Fubara"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, has hinted on the restoration of peace with his predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.<\/p>\n<p>Fubara said there is no reason why there won\u2019t be peace between him and his \u201cOga\u201d referring to Wike.<\/p>\n<p>Wike and Fubara fell off shortly after the governor assumed office in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The rift between the duo affected organs of governance in the state, including the state House of Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>At the point of the crisis snowballing into a full security situation, President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency for six months.<\/p>\n<p>The president also appointed a Sole Administrator to preside over the affairs of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Amid his suspension, Fubara met with Tinubu and Wike to seek reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p>Confirming the meeting, Wike likened Fubara to his son.<\/p>\n<p>However, Fubara while addressing a group of his supporters in a video, Fubara said: \u201cThere is no reason why there won\u2019t be peace between me and my Oga, we want peace so that Rivers will move forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to plead with everyone, they said I\u2019m not a politician but I don\u2019t know what is the entry requirement for wanting to be a politician, but I know that what is most important in this life is respect that I earned and not respect that is being forced.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to earn your respect by not bossing you but serving you.
