That situation is still challenging, and while we’ve made progress, we are not yet where we need to be,” he said.

The governor reiterated that his administration had made the fight against insecurity a top priority, committing substantial resources to restore peace and order.

He described the situation as one that requires a joint effort between government and citizens.

“We cannot win this war alone. We need communities to work with the authorities and provide actionable intelligence that will lead to the arrest or termination of these criminals.”

Governor Radda emphasized that the state would continue its policy of supporting victims of bandit attacks rather than paying ransoms.

As part of his administration’s strategy, the governor pointed to the establishment of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, a grassroots security initiative aimed at complementing the efforts of conventional security agencies.

“We didn’t waste any time in setting up the Community Watch Corps. It is a homegrown solution that is now being replicated in other states,” he said.

While commending the efforts of the military and federal government, Radda acknowledged that more work lies ahead.

“We have made significant gains, but the road is still long. We will not rest until every LGA in Katsina is free from the grip of bandits.”

In addition to military and community-based interventions, the governor said his government is addressing the root causes of insecurity, including poverty and youth unemployment.

“Our investments in agriculture, enterprise development, and healthcare are aimed at reducing the vulnerabilities that bandits exploit,” he explained.

He reiterated that none of these gains can be sustained without peace and stability.

For More News And Analysis About Nigeria Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Nigeria.
