Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, have stated that it took courage for residents of the South-East to comply with its May 30 sit-at-home order to mark this year\u2019s Biafra Day.<\/p>\n

According to IPOB, the widespread adherence to the directive across the region demonstrates that \u201cBiafra is a living spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emma Powerful, IPOB\u2019s spokesperson, praised the people of the South-East for observing the order.<\/p>\n

In a statement he signed, Powerful said: \u201cThe leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), under the command and guidance of our indomitable leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, commends the total and unprecedented compliance by Biafrans across the entire homeland and beyond with the sit-at-home directive issued in solemn remembrance of our fallen heroes and heroines.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe salute the courage, discipline, and deep ancestral conviction of our people in observing this sacred ritual of remembrance. This compliance is yet another irrefutable proof that Biafra is not a dream\u2014Biafra is a living spirit burning in every true Biafran\u2019s soul.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe remind them: every child born of genuine Biafran blood has the map of Biafra encrypted in their DNA. Our resistance to oppression is not learned; it is inborn.<\/p>\n

\u201cFreedom is our essence, and justice is our creed. We are the children of light\u2014destined to rise, no matter how many times the enemy plots our fall. Every Biafran is an Indigenous Person of Biafra, and IPOB is the embodiment of that spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The group also pledged to ensure that every community, clan, and state capital within the South-East erects a cenotaph to honour those who died during the Biafran civil war.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom 2026 and beyond, IPOB shall ensure that every community, every clan, and every state capital within Biafraland erects a cenotaph in honour of our martyrs\u2014those we lost in the genocidal war of 1967\u201370 and all those slain in subsequent years by an occupying and oppressive regime,\u201d Powerful added.<\/p>\n
