Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The North West Youth Network has declared the appointment of Yazeed Shehu Danfulani as Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) a long-overdue lifeline for young farmers, saying they have been sidelined for years in national agricultural programmes.<\/p>\n

This is as the group commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the move, calling it a bold step toward empowering neglected rural youth and reviving hope across farming communities in the region.<\/p>\n

Danfulani, an experienced agribusiness strategist and public finance expert, assumed his role as NAIC Managing Director, a federal agency tasked with agricultural insurance and risk management for farmers across the country.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Monday, the group noted that Danfulani\u2019s appointment has renewed the confidence of young professionals across the North West in President Tinubu\u2019s willingness to recognize and empower credible technocrats, irrespective of age or political clout.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe commend President Tinubu for this strategic and thoughtful appointment. Yazeed Shehu Danfulani is a proven leader, reliable, result-oriented, and reform-minded.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis emergence sends a strong message that this administration is committed to driving economic growth through capable leadership,\u201d said Bashir Kawu, Coordinator of the North West Youth Network.<\/p>\n

Kawu expressed optimism that Danfulani\u2019s leadership will reinvigorate NAIC and refocus its operations on providing tangible support for farmers, especially in underserved rural areas.<\/p>\n

He described the president\u2019s decision as \u201ca masterstroke,\u201d coming at a crucial time when the nation is striving for food security and broader economic stability.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor years, young farmers in the North West have been excluded from key agricultural initiatives. With Danfulani at the helm, we expect a meaningful shift, one that brings real protection and growth opportunities to rural farmers,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The group, expressing what it called a \u201cvote of confidence\u201d in President Tinubu\u2019s governance approach, also unveiled a grassroots mobilisation campaign aimed at delivering no fewer than 20 million votes to the president in the 2027 elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is beyond appreciation, it\u2019s a call to action. Mobilisation has already commenced across the seven states of the North West. Our target is ambitious but achievable: to deliver 20 million votes for President Tinubu in 2027,\u201d Kawu declared.<\/p>\n
