{"id":166876,"date":"2025-06-14T22:23:40","date_gmt":"2025-06-14T21:23:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/rivers-no-king-lasts-forever-my-victory-will-come-fubara"},"modified":"2025-06-14T23:30:42","modified_gmt":"2025-06-14T22:30:42","slug":"rivers-no-king-lasts-forever-my-victory-will-come-fubara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/rivers-no-king-lasts-forever-my-victory-will-come-fubara","title":{"rendered":"Rivers: No king lasts forever, my victory will come \u2013 Fubara"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The suspended governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, has declared that no king lasts forever.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a gathering in Bonny, Fubara declared that his victory will come back to him at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that he does not consider himself to be losing anything, noting that God has kept him standing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody will not appreciate your style but when you know that what you are doing is right, you are sure that in 25 to 30 years, if placed in any box and you are asked a question, you can defend your action, that\u2019s what makes you a man<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo king lives forever, that\u2019s the truth and no authority lasts forever, but what is important is that within the period that you are in power or when you reigned, I wished you did wonderful things that would speak forever.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome people accused me about a lot of things but the truth about it is that I can\u2019t be what I\u2019m not or who I am.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd for our people, just be strong \u2013 at times, you need to lose to win \u2013 for me and anybody who believes in me, I have never considered myself losing anything. It\u2019s when you attach life to things that it bothers you.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know that at the end of the day, our winning will come to us because we are standing on a solid rock.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fubara was suspended in March after President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State.<\/p>\n<p>The President appointed a Sole Administrator, Ibok-Ete Ibas, to preside over the state while Fubara\u2019s suspension lasts for six months.<\/p>\n<p>The emergency rule and Fubara\u2019s suspension was a fallout of the political crisis that followed a face-off between Fubara and his predecessor, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.<\/p>\n<p>Since his suspension, Fubara had met twice with Tinubu and Wike, in a bid to seek reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
