{"id":167381,"date":"2025-06-24T20:22:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-24T19:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/wikes-fct-projects-attracting-business-investment-to-abuja-tinubu"},"modified":"2025-06-24T20:22:00","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T19:22:00","slug":"wikes-fct-projects-attracting-business-investment-to-abuja-tinubu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/wikes-fct-projects-attracting-business-investment-to-abuja-tinubu","title":{"rendered":"Wike\u2019s FCT projects attracting business, investment to Abuja \u2013 Tinubu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) under the leadership of Nyesom Wike for creating new opportunities for businesses, housing, and investment in Abuja through major infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu made this known on Tuesday during the inauguration of the right-hand service carriageway of the Inter Northern Expressway (INEX), which stretches from Ring Road III to the Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX), in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>He said the newly completed road is a major step in connecting the city and boosting economic activities.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking through the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, Tinubu described the INEX road as a key project in line with the original development plan for the FCT.<\/p>\n<p>The president explained that the 16-kilometre road would reduce traffic, ease movement within the city, and encourage more economic and residential growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis road we\u2019re commissioning today is more than just a road. It represents progress and supports the Renewed Hope Agenda of my government,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to build infrastructure that meets the needs of the people, opens up the economy, and promotes long-term development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu added that as Abuja grows, it is necessary to keep improving road networks to support that growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis road will create better access for businesses and housing in nearby areas,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also noted that the project is a good example of what can be achieved when planning, leadership, and proper execution come together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe plan to carry out similar projects across the country roads, railways, bridges so that no part of Nigeria is left behind,\u201d Tinubu said.<\/p>\n<p>He praised Wike for ensuring that the project was completed with quality and speed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat you have done goes beyond building a road. You have helped secure the future of our capital city,\u201d Tinubu stated.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike said the project was first awarded in 2014 for \u20a67 billion but was finally completed at a revised cost of \u20a631 billion due to inflation and design changes.<\/p>\n<p>Wike noted that the project reflects President Tinubu\u2019s promise to complete abandoned and ongoing projects that benefit citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis part of Abuja is known for industry, and there is an Industrial Park nearby. Before now, the developer had no support, but this administration stepped in to change that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to him, when the park becomes fully operational, it is expected to create about 40,000 direct jobs, which will boost the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood roads are essential for economic growth. Investors will only come when there\u2019s good infrastructure,\u201d Wike added. He also appreciated the president\u2019s continued support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will keep doing my best under the Renewed Hope Agenda for the good of Abuja and the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Also speaking, the FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, described the road as another example of the government\u2019s commitment to delivering meaningful development that benefits people directly.<\/p>\n<p>In his explanation, Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Mr Richard Dauda, said the INEX road is planned to be a 32.5-kilometre, 10-lane expressway stretching from Maitama to ONEX.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
