Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has condemned the brutal killings of two young Kano indigenes, Barhama Suleiman and Jamilu Ahmad, who tragically lost their lives in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.<\/p>\n

Describing the incident as \u201cbarbaric, senseless, and utterly unacceptable,\u201d Governor Yusuf expressed profound sorrow and outrage.<\/p>\n

According to a statement by the Governor\u2019s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the victims were ambushed late at night by unidentified assailants without any provocation, resulting in their untimely demise.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of two promising sons of Kano.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were law-abiding citizens whose only \u2018crime\u2019 was exercising their constitutional right to live and work anywhere in Nigeria,\u201d Governor Yusuf lamented.<\/p>\n

The Governor assured that the Kano State Government was fully committed to ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice. He emphasized the importance of close collaboration with security agencies and the Benue State Government in this pursuit.<\/p>\n

In honor of the deceased, Governor Yusuf announced his intention to lead a high-level delegation, including the victims\u2019 families, to their funeral prayers scheduled for today at the National Mosque in Abuja.<\/p>\n

Expressing condolences to the bereaved families and renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, father of the slain men, Governor Yusuf described the loss as a tragic blow not only to the families but also to Kano State and the entire nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis administration will relentlessly pursue justice. We urge for calm and restraint as we strive to ensure that those responsible face the full consequences of their actions,\u201d the statement stated.<\/p>\n
