Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, has said the floodgate of crisis has been opened in the party.<\/p>\n

Ologbondiyan said the PDP acting Chairman, Umar Damagum opened the floodgate of crisis by directing Sam Anyanwu to resume as the party\u2019s National Secretary.<\/p>\n

Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye have been at loggerheads over who occupies the office of the PDP\u2019s National Secretary.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Damagum led a high-powered PDP delegation to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to seek a resolution to the crisis.<\/p>\n

Following the visit, Damagum directed Anyanwu to resume his duties at the PDP National Secretariat.<\/p>\n

Faulting his directive, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister, Nyesom Wike had said Damagum can\u2019t give such an order because Anyanwu was not his appointee.<\/p>\n

However, Ologbondiyan insisted that Damagum contravened PDP\u2019s constitution by directing Anyanwu to resume his duties as National Secretary.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Arise Television, the former PDP spokesman said: \u201cWhen you talk about the issue of crisis in our party, I think the floodgate has just been opened because the action of Damagum acting in contravention of the party\u2019s constitution by unilaterally directing Anyanwu to resume office as National Secretary, I can\u2019t describe the implication.<\/p>\n

\u201cNEC which is superior to that National Working Committee, which is second only to the national convention of the party took a decision at the 99th meeting held at Legacy House in Abuja.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt said look, we have taken the report of the Southeast who are complaining about the fact that their nomination has not been accepted, so at the next NEC meeting that will come up on June 30th, we will now take a decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow can a selected group of people go and sit down somewhere that the person whose office is in question should resume.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is outside the resolution of the NEC, do we still have a party?\u201d<\/p>\n
