Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A 44-year-old civil servant, Charles Ogunyinka, was on Friday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court for allegedly touching his three-year-old daughter indecently.<\/p>\n

Ogunyinka, who resides in the Abaranje area of Ikotun, Lagos, is facing a charge of unlawful and indecent touching of a minor.<\/p>\n

According to the Prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, the alleged offence occurred in January 2025 at the defendant\u2019s residence.<\/p>\n

Ademigbuji informed the court that the incident took place after the defendant\u2019s wife briefly left the child in his care.<\/p>\n

Upon her return, she reportedly found the child crying.<\/p>\n

Further inquiry led the child to gesture toward her private part while identifying her father, the prosecutor said.<\/p>\n

The alleged act is said to be in violation of Section 263 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.<\/p>\n

Ogunyinka, however, pleaded not guilty to the one count charge.<\/p>\n

Chief Magistrate O. O. Kushanu granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250,000, with two sureties in the same amount, and adjourned the case until September 11, 2025, for mention.<\/p>\n
