Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has described the passing of Oba John Omoloso Makanjuola Oyelusi III, the Elekusa of Ekusa, as a monumental loss to the state.<\/p>\n

Adeleke who made this known in a condolence message signed by Olawale Rasheed his spokesperson on Wednesday in Osogbo, also said the late traditional ruler lived for his people and will be sorely missed.<\/p>\n

The governor also commiserated with his immediate family, particularly his son, Prince Kunle Makanjuola, who is the Chairman of RATTAWU in Osun State, the royal family and the entire subjects of Ekusa town.<\/p>\n

He noted that the late monarch\u2019s reign brought progress to the ancient town.<\/p>\n

Governor Adeleke said, \u201cI\u2019m deeply touched by the news of the passing of HRM Oba John Omoloso Makanjuola (Oyelusi III), the Elekusa of Ekusa in Odo-Otin local government area of Osun state.<\/p>\n

\u201cKabiyesi lived for his people, utilising his tool to foster unity and peace of his domain. His passing has left a huge vacuum, particularly to the many who relied on his wise counsel and to the majority of his subjects who are impacted by his transformative leadership.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy condolences go to his immediate family, particularly Prince Kunle Makanjuola who is currently heading RATTAWU in the state, the royal family, the people of Ekusa town and anyone touched by his demise.\u201d<\/p>\n

DAILY POST gathered that Oba Oyelusi III passed away at the age of 83 on Sunday, June 29, 2025.<\/p>\n

His death was formally announced on Monday by his son, Prince Adekunle Makanjuola.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father and ruler, Oba John Omoloso Mokanjuola Oyelusi III. He passed peacefully and will be greatly missed by the entire Ekusa community,\u201d Makamnjuola stated.<\/p>\n

The late Elekusa family revealed that burial arrangements for the late monarch will be communicated in due course, in collaboration with the Ekusa traditional council.<\/p>\n
