{"id":168122,"date":"2025-07-02T15:04:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T14:04:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/two-killed-others-injured-as-bandits-attack-kwara-community"},"modified":"2025-07-02T16:11:51","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T15:11:51","slug":"two-killed-others-injured-as-bandits-attack-kwara-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/two-killed-others-injured-as-bandits-attack-kwara-community","title":{"rendered":"Two killed, others injured as bandits attack Kwara community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Two persons have been confirmed dead while several others sustained injuries after a violent confrontation between vigilante operatives and suspected bandits in the Edogi area of the Lafiagi axis, Kwara State.<\/p>\n<p>The clash resulted in gunshot wounds to four persons, including members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, identified as Mohammed Ndagi, Saidu Jiya and Philips John.<\/p>\n<p>A civilian identified as Babangida Daniel, who was passing by during the incident, was also injured in the crossfire.<\/p>\n<p>All the victims were promptly taken to the General Hospital in Lafiagi for emergency medical attention.<\/p>\n<p>The VGN Commander, Mohammed Yatsu, and Babangida Daniel were pronounced dead upon arrival by medical personnel.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining injured victims have since been transferred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, UITH, for future medical care.<\/p>\n<p>ASP Sado Sunday, who was said to be part of the security operation, has been declared missing, with search and rescue efforts currently ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Security operatives have launched an investigation and are working to apprehend the attackers while taking steps to ensure the restoration of peace in the affected community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
