Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that Bolaji Abdullahi is a political liability whose actions contributed to the problems currently facing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).<\/p>\n

Olayinka made this known while responding to recent comments made by Abdullahi, who blamed Wike for the misfortunes of the PDP.<\/p>\n

Abdullahi, now the interim spokesperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), had said that Wike played a role in weakening what was once one of the strongest political parties in Africa.<\/p>\n

In a statement shared on Friday, Olayinka said it was unfair to blame Wike alone, insisting that individuals like Abdullahi also played a part in the party\u2019s struggles.<\/p>\n

\u201cWas it because of Wike that Abdullahi left the PDP in 2014?\u201d Olayinka asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cOr was it because he fell out with his political mentor, Senator Bukola Saraki, the man who gave him his first major appointments?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs usual, Abdullahi failed to mention that the political waka-about of himself and Atiku, his present emergency political leader contributed to the misfortune of the PDP. Or is it not on record that it was the political treachery of Atiku that frustrated the collective efforts of the PDP members in Lagos State to win the State in 2003?<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a minister in President Goodluck Jonathan\u2019s administration, why did Abdullahi leave the PDP for the APC at that time? Was it because the PDP failed Nigerians? And as National Publicity Secretary of the APC, did he leave in 2018 because of Wike or because he felt his political ambitions were no longer achievable there?\u201d<\/p>\n

Olayinka also pointed to Abdullahi\u2019s unsuccessful bids for office in Kwara State.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen in 2019 Abdullahi failed to secure the PDP governorship ticket, was that also because of Wike? Even in 2023, after receiving the PDP ticket for Senate, he still lost the election to the APC candidate.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, Abdullahi\u2019s inability to win elections in his home state, despite having served as Special Assistant, Commissioner, and Minister, suggests he lacks strong political support from the people he once represented.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt shows clearly that the people of Kwara do not see him as the kind of leader they want, it simply means that he is a political liability and this reality he must face.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Olayinka also questioned the motives behind the new political coalition Abdullahi belongs to, which he described as being driven by personal ambition rather than national interest.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, i thinks that he should stop being deceitful and tell Nigerians the truth as to his penchant for \u2018Political Jumpology\u2019, rather than the same rhetoric of \u2018we want to rescue Nigeria.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cAbdullahi also said their coalition is not just anti-Tinubu, but more focused on saving Nigeria\u2019s democracy.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow can a gathering of people like Atiku Abubakar, a serial decampee whose boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo described as patently corrupt, Nasir El-Rufai, the promoter of body bag politics who as Governor of Kaduna State was busy going on his bended knees to pay terrorists, Hungry Rotimi Amaechi, under whom the judiciary in River State was shutdown for over one year, Dino Melaye, who couldn\u2019t vote for himself in his own election, and other frustrated politicians be about saving democracy?<\/p>\n

\u201cLet Abdullahi and his coalition of confusion stop lying to Nigerians. They selfishly want power for themselves and their cronies.\u201d he added<\/p>\n

He concluded by declaring that the power they seek will remain out of their reach.<\/p>\n
