{"id":168971,"date":"2025-07-10T11:48:27","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T10:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/atiku-adc-window-shoppers-ex-pdp-legal-adviser-jacob-mark"},"modified":"2025-07-10T12:52:34","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T11:52:34","slug":"atiku-adc-window-shoppers-ex-pdp-legal-adviser-jacob-mark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/parties\/atiku-adc-window-shoppers-ex-pdp-legal-adviser-jacob-mark","title":{"rendered":"Atiku ADC Window Shoppers Ex-PDP Legal Adviser Jacob Mark"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Jacob Mark, a former legal adviser to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has dismissed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other PDP members now aligning themselves with the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress, ADC, as mere \u201cwindow shoppers\u201d who, in his view, should not be taken seriously.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Arise Television\u2019s The Morning Show on Thursday, Mark criticised Atiku for what he described as a pattern of political inconsistency, accusing him of constantly switching parties in pursuit of a presidential ticket.<\/p>\n<p>He asserted that he could not take Atiku seriously until he officially resigned from PDP and formally joined ADC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnyone who has not resigned from his political party and is moving up and down, he\u2019s in SDP today, he\u2019s in ADA tomorrow, he\u2019s now in ADC, should not be taken seriously,\u201d Mark said.<\/p>\n<p>When asked directly whether Atiku falls into that category, Mark replied, \u201cUntil he resigns from the PDP, I will not take him seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He further argued that it is unconstitutional for Atiku to simultaneously pursue presidential nominations from both PDP and ADC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can\u2019t be shopping for a presidential ticket in ADC and shopping for a presidential ticket in PDP at the same time. That is not allowed by law. You can\u2019t shop in two different political parties, you must belong to one,\u201d the PDP ex-legal adviser stated.<\/p>\n<p>Referencing Atiku\u2019s history of party defections, Mark accused the former Vice President of setting a precedent for political recklessness within PDP.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cIt has been happening since 2009 or so, particularly in 2011, when Atiku Abubakar, with five other governors, walked out of the PDP convention and formed an alliance with the opposition party at that time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey went shopping, they lost the election and then came back to the PDP and nothing happened to them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the foundation of political rascality that has not been punished.
