{"id":169106,"date":"2025-07-11T11:13:22","date_gmt":"2025-07-11T10:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/kaduna-housewife-arraigned-for-alleged-goat-theft"},"modified":"2025-07-11T12:35:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-11T11:35:14","slug":"kaduna-housewife-arraigned-for-alleged-goat-theft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/kaduna-housewife-arraigned-for-alleged-goat-theft","title":{"rendered":"Kaduna housewife arraigned for alleged goat theft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A 35-year-old housewife, Sarah Gideon was arraigned on Thursday before a Kaduna Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing a goat in the Narayi area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>The accused, who pleaded not guilty to one count of theft, was alleged to have attempted to steal the goat from one Martins Bobai\u2019s residence in the Karji area, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Luka, Gideon was allegedly working on a farm close to the complainant\u2019s place of residence when she was said to have untied the goat that was in front of the house, and was about to escape with it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a neighbour that observed the accused pulling the goat away, and he raised the alarm which led to the accused being arrested immediately,\u201d Luka told the court.<\/p>\n<p>He further told the court that the defendant did not give a satisfactory explanation when the police questioned her at the Barnawa Police Division.<\/p>\n<p>The charge according to the prosecutor violates Section 217 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law of 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding over the matter, Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case until August 14 for further hearing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
