Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel, has said that goalkeeper Robert Sa\u0301nchez surprised him during the Club World Cup final match against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Mikel had earlier criticised the Spaniard, calling on the club to sell him. But he has had a change of mind about him after yesterday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

Chelsea surprised the football world by beating PSG 3-0 at the MetLife Stadium in the presence of US President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

Prior to the game, Mikel had urged the Blues to sign a new goalkeeper before the new Premier League season.<\/p>\n

However, Sa\u0301nchez helped the Blues beat the Champions League holders and won the best goalkeeper of the tournament award.<\/p>\n

He kept three clean sheets in the competition, and Mikel now feels different about the Spain international.<\/p>\n

He told DAZN, \u201cI\u2019m surprised, he had a really good game today. Credit when credit is due. He did play a good game today. This save here\u2014brilliant save, strong hands.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what you need from a goalkeeper. I\u2019m very, very happy for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully we can see a much better Sa\u0301nchez.\u201d<\/p>\n
