Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed the successful screening of Auwalu Isah Manzo as its candidate for the Garki\/Babura House of Representatives by-election in Jigawa State.<\/p>\n

INEC had earlier announced 16th August, 2025 as date for the Garki\/Babura Federal constituency election following the death of Isa Dogon Yaro who died on May 10, 2024 at the age of 46.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the screening, Secretary of the screening committee PDP National headquarters, Abuja, Precious Ben said, the party had successfully screened it\u2019s candidate for the coming by-election of Garki\/Babura constituency.<\/p>\n

She explained that, the five men committee was constituted by the PDP to visit Jigawa and screen the candidate to ensure his eligibility to contest for the party.<\/p>\n

According to her, \u201cwe have successfully screened the candidate, he presented all the documents required, therefore he meets with all the necessary criteria of the Party and INEC\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLooking at his vast experience and popularity, I am sure he is the best candidate for the party and can compete and defeat with any candidate in other political parties\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to Journalists after the screening, the party candidate Auwalu Manzo said he retired as a civil servant to contest the position to bring change to the constituent.<\/p>\n

He assured that his constituents would vote for him in the coming by election.<\/p>\n

The All Progressive Congress APC and NNPP have filed their candidates.<\/p>\n
