Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina, has admitted he is desperate to beat at the 2026 World Cup after missing out on the previous two editions.<\/p>\n

Nigeria has not qualified for the tournament since 2018.<\/p>\n

In 2022, the three-time African champions failed to make it after losing to Ghana in a two-legged play-off.<\/p>\n

As it stands, the Eagles are on the verge of missing out again, as they currently sit fourth in Group C of the World Cup Qualifiers, six points behind leaders South Africa.<\/p>\n

With just four games left, only a miracle would see Nigeria through.<\/p>\n

Aina, who turns 29 in October, said: \u201cI got shenked in 2018. That manager (Gernot Rohr) shenked me, I was supposed to go, but he did rubbish,\u201d Aina said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen obviously we didn\u2019t qualify in 2022. So this 2026, I\u2019m putting all my energy into it. I need to go because if not, I think my World Cup dream is over.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be too old and I\u2019m not trying to get in other people\u2019s place, and it\u2019s in the US. I need to be there. There\u2019s five (four) games left and we need to win all.\u201d<\/p>\n
