{"id":169860,"date":"2025-07-16T21:36:26","date_gmt":"2025-07-16T20:36:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/kwara-university-students-escape-death-in-ilorin-bus-fire"},"modified":"2025-07-16T22:42:02","modified_gmt":"2025-07-16T21:42:02","slug":"kwara-university-students-escape-death-in-ilorin-bus-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/kwara-university-students-escape-death-in-ilorin-bus-fire","title":{"rendered":"Kwara university students escape death in Ilorin bus fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Students of the Kwara State University, Malete, escaped death in an 18-seater bus in Ilorin on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred at about 07:54hours, when the bus with registration number, XUF134ZD, went up in flames and was completely razed down.<\/p>\n<p>The students were said to have been on their way to the main campus of the institution from Bovas filling station along Akerebiata axis on Ilorin-Sobi road.<\/p>\n<p>According to the spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle, \u201cthe Kwara State Fire Service responded swiftly to a distress call regarding a vehicle fire involving an 18-seater bus with registration number XUF 134 ZD along Shao Road, near Sobi Barracks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fire crew responded swiftly and successfully extinguished the fire.
