Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A communal clash between two neighbouring communities in Katsina State has left one person dead and two police officers injured.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning following a renewed dispute over grazing land between residents of Rijiyar Tsamiya village in Sandamu Local Government Area and Munawa village in Dutsi LGA.<\/p>\n

According to a post shared on Thursday by security analyst and counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama on X, the violence broke out around 7:00 am, when youths from Rijiyar Tsamiya reportedly launched an attack on Munawa village, setting several mud silos used for storing grains on fire.<\/p>\n

During the clash, a 20-year-old man identified as Gaddafi Umar from Rijiyar Tsamiya sustained serious injuries. Two policemen who responded to the disturbance were also injured during the operation.<\/p>\n

All three victims were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Daura. However, Gaddafi was later confirmed dead, while the two officers were treated and discharged.<\/p>\n

Police sources said preliminary investigations revealed that the conflict was rooted in a lingering dispute over grazing land, a frequent source of tension in the region.<\/p>\n

Security operatives have since restored calm to the area. Authorities say investigations are ongoing to prevent further violence.<\/p>\n
