Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A researcher and political analyst based in Abia state, Ujo Justice, has cautioned Governor Alex Otti to stop media attacks on the immediate-past Executive Secretary of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Prince Paul Ikonne, over his call for the creation of Aba State.<\/p>\n

Justice made this known in a statement on Friday.<\/p>\n

Ikonne had on Thursday criticised Otti\u2019s stand against the creation of an additional state for the South-East.<\/p>\n

Responding to Ikonne\u2019s comments, Otti, through his media aide Ferdinand Ekeoma, in a statement titled \u2018Aba State Creation: Paul Ikonne Needs Help to Salvage His Hate-ravaged Mind\u2019, accused the former NALDA boss of inciting division.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the development, Ujo Justice, cautioned Otti against media bullying, saying the governor\u2019s statement \u201cis not a defence of governance, but an attempt to silence dissent\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cResorting to insults, distorting past events, and questioning academic credentials without proof is nothing but intellectual laziness.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrince Paul Ikonne did not incite division; he illuminated reality. His call for the creation of Aba State was a legitimate political expression rooted in the quest for equity, development, and fair representation\u2014a demand many leaders from the South-east, including progressive voices across party lines, have long echoed.<\/p>\n

\u201cRather than engage with the merit of his argument, the governor\u2019s media aide descended into personal insults, calling Ikonne \u201chate-ravaged,\u201d \u201cinfantile,\u201d and \u201cclannish.\u201d Such vile expressions should have no place in public discourse, especially from the office of a sitting governor,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
