Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria, ACPN, has enjoined the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, to avoid imposing directives that could disrupt the pharmaceutical sector.<\/p>\n

ACPN also called for a regulatory framework to avoid conflict between NAFDAC and the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, PCN.<\/p>\n

National Chairman of ACPN, Pharm Ambrose Ezeh, said this in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Ezeh who spoke at the 44th Annual National Scientific Conference of the association in Awka, Anambra State, emphasised the importance of the National Drug Distribution Guidelines, NDDG, established in 2015.<\/p>\n

He advised NAFDAC to avoid any form of imposition of directives that could disrupt the sector.<\/p>\n

At the event themed, \u201cTechnology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacy Practice,\u201d Ezeh highlighted the need for clear regulatory frameworks in the sector.<\/p>\n

He maintained that this will help avoid conflicts between NAFDAC and PCN.<\/p>\n

Ezeh called on NAFDAC to respect established statutory functions, reaffirming ACPN\u2019s commitment to collaborating with the government to enhance healthcare delivery and ensure the well-being of health consumers across the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a need for clear regulatory frameworks to avoid conflicts between NAFDAC and the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN).<\/p>\n

The event was attended by Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State, President of Pharmactical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Pharm. Tanko Ibrahim, Registrar of Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN), Pharm. Ibrahim Ahmed and Director General of NAFDAC, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye who was represented by NAFDAC Deputy Director for Anambra State, Pharm. Loui Madu.<\/p>\n
