Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Benue State Peoples People\u2019s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State has held it\u2019s expanded caucus meeting in Zaki-Biam to strengthen the party and re strategize on how to regain power come 2027.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Abraham Waroh, PDP Zonal Chairman for Zone A, appreciated the massive turnout of party supporters in Ukum.<\/p>\n

He encouraged them to keep faith with the PDP as the party has resolved all lingering issues and better prepared for future victories.<\/p>\n

Waroh expressed disappointment with the Alia-led government for neglecting Ukum despite the overwhelming support accorded him in 2023 while he was contesting for governorship.<\/p>\n

He said the neglect has caused a serious setback for the people of Ukum, who hitherto were very prosperous in agriculture.<\/p>\n

Waroh advised the people of Ukum to shun the coalition saying it is a party championed by greedy people who think the world revolves around them and they must be in leadership at all times.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that even though the coalition members assumed leadership positions in their late 20s and early 30s, their reason for joining the ADC is borne out of the frustration that the current PDP has given leadership roles to the youth.<\/p>\n

National Ex-officio of the Party, Clement Mue said the only political party with the capacity to tackle the country\u2019s security and economic challenges is the PDP.<\/p>\n

He described those joining the party as \u201ccoorporate raiders \u201cand assured that the party will die a natural death in 6 months time.<\/p>\n

Prof. Tersoo Kpelai on the other hand said God has a way of revealing things to him charging Ukum people not to be deceived but to focus on the PDP.<\/p>\n

Benjamin Shiaondo Ngugarna expressed happiness with the exit of those he said were enemies of fair play, equity and justice in Ukum.<\/p>\n

Dr. Sylvester Atachin who spoke through Prince Tyodoo said those who were leaving to the coalition have enjoyed everything in the PDP and the reason for their exit is because there is no position left that they are yet to enjoy and that\u2019s the reason they are going to a new terrain.<\/p>\n

Elder Tswam Apetimin, Hon. Iorsoo Nyako, Elder Ikwe Jinawa, and Joseph Nengean Barrington, in their separate remarks on behalf of Ucha, Ngenev, Mbaterem, and Torov clans, respectively, passed a resounding vote of confidence on the leader of the party in the state, ex-Governor Samuel Ortom, for supporting Ukum sons while he was in government and even now that he\u2019s out of office citing the recent elevation of Barr. Clement Mue as PDP National Ex-Officio and Abraham Waroh as the party\u2019s Zonal Chairman for Zone A.<\/p>\n

They said Chief Ortom\u2019s support was the first in the history of the party in Ukum and the entire Sankera.<\/p>\n

The motion to pass the vote of confidence on the leadership of the immediate past Governor and the Ezekiel Adaji led SWC was unanimously adopted by the party through local Government Chairman, Terdoo Gusa, the Women Leader, Ruth Hembadoon Aernyi and the Youth Leader, Bem Gusa.<\/p>\n
