{"id":171557,"date":"2025-07-28T23:15:34","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T22:15:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/adr-complements-conventional-court-system-chief-justice"},"modified":"2025-07-29T00:26:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T23:26:12","slug":"adr-complements-conventional-court-system-chief-justice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/parties\/adr-complements-conventional-court-system-chief-justice","title":{"rendered":"ADR Complements Conventional Court System Chief Justice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Chief Judge of Kaduna State, Justice Muhammad Tukur Mu\u2019azu Aliyu, has stated that the Alternative Dispute Resolution, ADR, mechanism is a window that has complemented the conventional court system by decongesting case dockets.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Judge made this declaration in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Kaduna Settlement Week 2025 on Monday at the High Court Complex, Kaduna.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Aliyu said the ADR initiative has created an atmosphere in which parties can resolve their disputes in a less adversarial and more efficient manner, while also promoting peace-building among litigants.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the Settlement Week represents another significant milestone in the collective effort to deepen access to justice through timely, cost-effective, and amicable dispute resolution.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that the Kaduna Multi-Door Courthouse, KMDC, since its establishment, has remained a testament to the judiciary\u2019s commitment to innovation and reform, adding that it has become a credible hub for ADR.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we flag off the 2025 Settlement Week, I encourage all parties with eligible matters to take full advantage of this opportunity. Mediation and other ADR processes not only save time and cost; they often preserve relationships, build understanding, and provide flexible solutions that litigation may not offer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet me assure you that the Kaduna State Judiciary remains fully committed to strengthening the institutional framework and operational capacity of the Centre. We shall continue to work with the Ministry of Justice, the NBA, civil societies, development partners, and the private sector to promote ADR as a fundamental pillar of our justice system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo our esteemed panel of neutrals and ADR officers, your professionalism, impartiality, and diligence remain critical to the credibility of this process.
