{"id":171581,"date":"2025-07-28T23:25:18","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T22:25:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/sdp-alleges-el-rufai-expelled-and-banned-for-forgery"},"modified":"2025-07-29T00:28:00","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T23:28:00","slug":"sdp-alleges-el-rufai-expelled-and-banned-for-forgery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/sdp-alleges-el-rufai-expelled-and-banned-for-forgery","title":{"rendered":"SDP Alleges El-Rufai Expelled and Banned for Forgery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Social Democratic Party, SDP, has explained why it expelled and banished former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai for 30 years.<\/p>\n<p>SDP\u2019s National Working Committee, NWC, claimed that El-Rufai was never its member because he failed to register at his ward as required by law, despite claiming to be a member of the party on social media.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, the party said El-Rufai forged his Ward registration with the tag \u201c001.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement reads: \u201cUpon thorough inquiry, it turned out that the Kaduna SDP was right that El-Rufai had not joined the SDP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRather than register lawfully with the Ward Executives, El-Rufai simply forged his own documents and self-registered and arrogated to himself \u2018number 001 in the SDP membership register of Unguwar Sarki Ward, Kaduna North Local Government Area,\u2019 as if the ward had no single member prior to his purported joining.
