Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Kwara State Government has flagged off the construction of new offices to accommodate more public and civil servants for enhanced service delivery to the people.<\/p>\n

The development is coming barely days after the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in a statement by its spokesman, Olusola Adewara, raised the alarm that the state government is planning to build a new Government House in the state capital.<\/p>\n

The flag off of the construction of the new offices took place in Ilorin, the state capital.<\/p>\n

The proposed structure is adjacent to the Deputy Governor\u2019s Office, Government House, Ilorin, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr Segun Ogunsola, said at the brief event.<\/p>\n

The commissioner also dismissed as false reports that the government was constructing another Government House.<\/p>\n

Ogunsola said the construction of the new offices is in line with Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq\u2019s plan to provide an adequate and befitting working environment for government functionaries.<\/p>\n

The one-storey project will comprise a conference room and several office spaces, among other facilities, he disclosed.<\/p>\n

Ogunsola said the ministry will ensure proper monitoring of the project to ensure that a quality job is delivered within the given timeframe of one year, asking the contractor to work according to the specification.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese new offices will bridge existing gaps and meet the current trend of enhancing the smooth running of the state in order to deepen democratic dividends for the people in both the rural and urban areas,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
