Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested two suspected drug traffickers during a walk against trafficking in the state.<\/p>\n

The suspects were reportedly arrested along Ihama road in Benin City.<\/p>\n

The NDLEA Edo Commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju who disclosed this to newsmen said the suspects were apprehended while participating in the march through major streets of Benin to commemorate 2025 World Day Against Trafficking.<\/p>\n

According to him, in the course of the walk through Benin, we apprehended two drug traffickers. They will face prosecution in line with the law.<\/p>\n

\u201cNDLEA had arrested five drug traffickers the previous week. They were already undergoing court proceedings to face justice.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis sends a strong warning to those involved in drug and human traffickers; they can run, but we will eventually catch them,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery step we took today symbolises action toward eliminating social vices across Nigeria and building a safer, more responsible society,\u201dhe said.<\/p>\n

The awareness event was organised by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, to commemorate the day with the theme, \u201cHuman Trafficking is organised crime, end the exploitation\u201d.<\/p>\n

Ofoyeju said human and drug trafficking were interconnected and represented dangerous forms of organised crime.<\/p>\n

He described the crimes as highly profitable ventures that lure many people into criminal networks driven by greed and a lack of conscience.<\/p>\n
