{"id":171902,"date":"2025-07-31T10:19:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T09:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/our-key-demands-must-be-met-nurses"},"modified":"2025-07-31T10:19:00","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T09:19:00","slug":"our-key-demands-must-be-met-nurses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/our-key-demands-must-be-met-nurses","title":{"rendered":"Our key demands must be met \u2013 nurses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The National Association of Nurses and Midwives, Federal Health Institutions Sector has vowed to continue with its ongoing strike until key aspects of their demands are addressed.<\/p>\n<p>The National Chairman, Morakinyo-Olajide Rilwan, made this statement on Thursday when he featured on \u2018Sunrise Daily\u2019, a programme on Channels Television.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST reports that despite holding a meeting with the Minister of Labour on Tuesday at the expiration of its 15-day ultimatum issued on 14 July, 2025, the union carried on with the industrial action on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Rilwan said that the striking nurses will ignore calls by the government to return to duty without meeting some of their demands.<\/p>\n<p>When asked what would happen if the government requests that they first return to work as it considers their demands, Rilwan said, \u201cThat is what the government will definitely ask for, that we should suspend the strike so they can look at our demands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not comfortable with that.
