Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Kano State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office and reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty to former National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, while pledging to intensify strategic efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n

This formed part of the resolutions at a high-level stakeholders\u2019 meeting held at Ganduje\u2019s residence in Kano on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The meeting brought together party leaders, elected officials, former political appointees and grassroots executives from across the state.<\/p>\n

Those in attendance included Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, 2023 APC gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Murtala Sule Garo, the Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure and members of the national and state assemblies, among others.<\/p>\n

In the resolutions read after the meeting, Kano APC chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, expressed appreciation for Ganduje\u2019s \u201cvisionary and inclusive leadership\u201d during his tenure as national chairman.<\/p>\n

Stakeholders highlighted key reforms initiated under him, including the e-registration of members, establishment of the Progressive Institute, and skill acquisition programs for youth and women.<\/p>\n

\u201cStakeholders unanimously reaffirmed their unflinching loyalty to Dr. Ganduje, endorsing him as the undisputed leader of the APC in Kano State,\u201d the resolution stated.<\/p>\n

The stakeholders commended President Bola Tinubu for his numerous infrastructure and development projects in the northern region, particularly in Kano State.<\/p>\n

Speaking to journalists, Abba Kabir Bichi, who represents Bichi Federal Constituency and chairs the House Appropriations Committee, listed several critical infrastructure projects, including the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Expressway, Kano-Hadeja Road, and the Kano Railway Bypass estimated at N250 billion.<\/p>\n

He also spoke of a light rail project in Kano Metropolitan area, projected at over $1 billion (N1.5 trillion), adding that these initiatives demonstrate the President\u2019s commitment to the North.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs chairman of the Appropriations Committee, I know what has been allocated. The President has done a lot. And we must be realistic and sincere about the progress achieved so far,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The meeting also expressed confidence in the APC\u2019s readiness for upcoming by-elections, vowing to retain or reclaim all contested seats. The stakeholders called for internal unity and strategic collaboration ahead of the 2027 polls.<\/p>\n

Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, described the meeting as a \u201creaffirmation of APC\u2019s strength and unity in Kano\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are here to show that the APC in Kano is still together. We are preparing for 2027, and the level of attendance here speaks volumes of our commitment,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She added that Tinubu\u2019s administration has significantly benefited Kano, citing interventions in agriculture, housing, infrastructure, and social welfare.<\/p>\n

The meeting concluded with renewed calls for discipline, loyalty, and adherence to party ideals. Leaders urged members to work in synergy to maintain Kano as an APC stronghold.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe gave the President the highest number of votes in the 2023 elections. We must sustain that momentum,\u201d Bichi said.<\/p>\n

The party pledged continued support for Ganduje and Tinubu\u2019s administration, while expressing optimism that more developmental strides would be recorded in the years ahead.<\/p>\n
