{"id":172858,"date":"2025-08-07T11:50:34","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T10:50:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/police-arrest-three-suspected-atm-fraudsters-in-yobe"},"modified":"2025-08-07T13:03:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T12:03:08","slug":"police-arrest-three-suspected-atm-fraudsters-in-yobe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/police-arrest-three-suspected-atm-fraudsters-in-yobe","title":{"rendered":"Police Arrest Three Suspected ATM Fraudsters in Yobe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Operatives of the Yobe State Police Command have arrested two suspected ATM fraudsters.<\/p>\n<p>The command recorded significant success in the fight against fraud and related offenses.<\/p>\n<p>Acting on credible intelligence, the State Intelligence Department (SID) apprehended Umar Abubakar, 24, and Abdulaziz Mohammad, 25, both from Kumbotso LGA of Kano State, for ATM card fraud.<\/p>\n<p>The Command, in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, indicated that the suspects, identified as Umar Abubakar and Abdulaziz Mohammad, both from Kumbotso LGA of Kano State, specialized in defrauding unsuspecting victims at ATM galleries by pretending to assist customers and swapping or cloning cards to withdraw money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were arrested while perpetrating the act at the Fidelity Bank ATM gallery in Damaturu,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate incident, the Command noted that Potiskum Divisional Police Headquarters personnel trailed and apprehended one Usman Suleman, 25, of Babura LGA of Jigawa State, a tricycle thief, in Bauchi State en route to Kano State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect allegedly stole a tricycle while the rider was performing prayer at a mosque near Access Bank in Potiskum.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth incidents are currently undergoing investigation for subsequent prosecution,\u201d the Command explained.<\/p>\n<p>The command urged members of the community to report suspicious activities promptly to the nearest police station or security formation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
