He was nominated by the members of Olubadan-in-Council as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland few days ago.<\/p>\n<p>He is expected to succeed the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin who joined his ancestors last month.<\/p>\n<p>According to the available historical accounts, Baale Ajayi Oyesile Olugbode who hailed from Owu was the 7th traditional ruler in Ibadan and reigned for thirteen (13) years, between 1851-1864.<\/p>\n<p>It was learnt that it was during his reign that the Otun Olubadan line was introduced as part of the two lines in the Olubadan chieftaincy arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>The family has appealed to the indigenes and residents of the ancient city to give the Olubadan-designate the necessary support so as to succeed during his reign.<\/p>\n<p>The family also declared that ancient city of Ibadan will witness peace, tranquility and more developmental projects during Ladoja\u2019s reign.<\/p>\n<p>The family made these assertions via a statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday and signed by the Mogaji of the family, Chief Tesleem Abiodun Olugbode.<\/p>\n<p>Olugbode while speaking said that Ladoja\u2019s experience, influence and connection as a former senator, governor and business tycoon are enough to bring more developmental projects to the ancient city.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cOn behalf of the entire Baale Ajayi Oyesile Olugbode and other Owu descendants both at home and in the Diaspora in Ibadan, I am using this medium to congratulate the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja on his nomination as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to use this medium to appeal to all indigenes and residents of Ibadanland to give him the necessary support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur projenitor, Baale Ajayi Oyesile Olugbode was the 7th Baale of Ibadan and reigned for thirteen (13) years, between 1851-1864. Baale Oyesile Olugbode was the one who introduced the Otun Olubadan line to Ibadan traditional system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we know, all Ibadan indigenes hailed from one place or the other, Baale Ajayi Oyesile Olugbode hailed from Owu. We have many families that are also from Owu in Ibadan and all of them are under Baale Ajayi Oyesile Olugbode family.
