{"id":174544,"date":"2025-08-15T17:07:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T16:07:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/national-youth-games-delta-govt-appoints-8-man-loc-for-2025"},"modified":"2025-08-15T18:30:13","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T17:30:13","slug":"national-youth-games-delta-govt-appoints-8-man-loc-for-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/sport\/national-youth-games-delta-govt-appoints-8-man-loc-for-2025","title":{"rendered":"National Youth Games: Delta govt appoints 8-man LOC for 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Delta State Sports Commission, DSSC, has unveiled an eight-man Local Organizing Committee, LOC, tasked with delivering a world-class 9th edition of the National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta state.<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, (DSSC), Mr Onoriode Oborevwori said the move is to reaffirm Delta\u2019s status as Nigeria\u2019s sports powerhouse.<\/p>\n<p>While he would serve as LOC Chairman, for the event this August, former Commissioner for Sports, Chief Solomon Ogba, was appointed as Adviser.<\/p>\n<p>He said the LOC has been charged with organizing and hosting a successful 9th National Youth Games, which will officially come with the arrival of contingents from across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Commission reaffirmed its commitment to staging an event that will showcase Delta\u2019s proven capacity for sports excellence and its leadership in grassroots talent development\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDelta is no stranger to hosting major national sports events. From the 2018 African Senior Athletics Championships to the 21st National Sports Festival in 2022, the state has consistently delivered top-tier facilities, flawless organization, and memorable competitions, earning it a reputation as the go-to destination for major sporting showpieces in Nigeria\u201d he said<\/p>\n<p>Former Super Eagles defender and current board member of the Sports Commission, Mr Sam Sodje, is also on the team, alongside fellow board members Mr. Oghale Ofremu and Miss Henrietta Ehiabor.<\/p>\n<p>Others include the immediate past Director General of the Sports Commission, Mr. Festus Ohwojero, and Mr. Paul Omamomo-Ojo as members, while the functional Director General of the Sports Commission, Emuobo Igalase, will serve as Secretary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
