{"id":174581,"date":"2025-08-15T20:23:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T19:23:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/african-parties-summit-charts-unified-path-for-politics"},"modified":"2025-08-15T21:33:30","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T20:33:30","slug":"african-parties-summit-charts-unified-path-for-politics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/african-parties-summit-charts-unified-path-for-politics","title":{"rendered":"African Parties Summit Charts Unified Path for Politics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The recently convened African Political Parties Summit in Ghana marked a historic milestone in reshaping the continent, with a vision to secure the holistic prosperity of its people and to propel multi-dimensional transformation across Africa, Ethiopia\u2019s Prosperity Party (PP) Public and International Relations Head Bikila Hurisa said.<\/p>\n<p>The African Political Parties Summit was held in Accra, Ghana, from August 12th to 14th, 2025, under the theme: \u201cFrom Politics to Prosperity: Strengthening Inter-Party Collaboration for Africa\u2019s Development and Economic Transformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A high-level delegation led by Prosperity Party Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister Adem Farah participated in the summit.<\/p>\n<p>In an exclusive interview with ENA, PP Public and International Relations Head and member of the delegation, Bikila Hurisa, stated that the very theme of the summit indicated that breaking the trap of Africa&#8217;s political parties tied up into narrow interest groups is imperative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe very concept of this theme is that political parties in Africa be transformed from political or narrow interest to holistic prosperity of their citizens and multi-dimensional change of their citizens. That is a very important issue when it comes to the very idea, the process, and ultimate goal of political parties in Africa,\u201d he elaborated.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Africa\u2019s political landscape remains hindered by narrow interests of certain groups and the absence of a transformative vision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe political parties in Africa should not be tied up into narrow interests of certain groups or political elites, but focus strategically on the transformation of their citizens in politics, economy and social spheres.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Given this context, Bikila emphasized that the recent African Political Parties Summit underscored the paramount importance of political parties in advancing nation-state building and driving the economic and social transformation of Africa\u2019s citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Winning votes, he noted, should never be their ultimate goal.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting Prosperity Party\u2019s active participation and engagement, the head said the ruling party shared its best practices and bold reform initiatives aimed at fundamentally transforming Ethiopia\u2019s political landscape.<\/p>\n<p>At the summit, PP Vice President Adam Farah, has delivered a keynote speech, it was learned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had shared Prosperity Party\u2019s experience, elaborated on PP&#8217;s stances on Medemer philosophy, and how this thought is strategically focusing on politics through prosperity in terms of breaking the zero-sum game problem that African political parties are facing at the general level,\u201d Bikila said.<\/p>\n<p>The Vice President also shared the experience of Prosperity Party in generally transforming the narratives with which Ethiopia is being governed under the Medemer philosophy, narrative of collaboration, participation, integrating the different interests of the society and political actors, and bringing different actors to the center of the Ethiopian politics, it was pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>The PP Public and International Relations Head further noted that Ethiopia\u2019s experience \u2014particularly the Prosperity Party\u2019s best practices were highlighted as valuable model for other African political parties to consider when shaping their political strategies and structures.<\/p>\n<p>Among the best practices are opening up the political space, promoting inclusivity, sharing power with opposition parties, advancing gender equality, and elevating young leaders to positions at both regional and federal levels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
