Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former governorship candidate in Anambra State and strong political ally of Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential candidate in 2023, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, has said that there is an orchestrated plan to pull Obi down.<\/p>\n

Obaze, who was Secretary to the Anambra State Government under Peter Obi and is now the Managing Director of Selonnes Consult, a policy, governance, and management consulting firm in Awka, said those behind the plot are people interested in the 2027 presidential election.<\/p>\n

In a piece he authored and shared on social media, the former United Nations diplomat said the reason for the attack is because Peter Obi has presented himself as the only credible candidate for the presidency, and has also won the hearts of many, especially young people.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cSome politicians with vested interests are already fighting back. They are strategically deploying all forms of trolls and subterfuge to demarket Peter Obi. Corruption is also fighting back, albeit covertly. The onslaught against Peter Obi is so well-oiled and funded; you\u2019d think he is the only person running for the presidency in 2027.<\/p>\n

\u201cObi\u2019s delegitimization and demythologization are being orchestrated by those awestruck by fear. Two years away from the 2027 presidential election, pre-purposed and pre-positioned media goons are already traducing and pummeling Peter Obi without let or hindrance.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlso, those hired hands pretending to be from Obi\u2019s Igbo tribe are rendering what they want many to believe are even more persuasive, potent, and factually damaging anti-Obi sentiments. They are dredging up vexatious dregs. The assault was long anticipated by those of us aligned with Obi.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said it has become obvious that some people are afraid of Obi and do not want him in the contest, but insisted that what will be more shocking to them is that Obi has no option other than to run for the election.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s the upshot. If Obi runs, he might not win; if he does not run, he is guaranteed not to win. There is only one factor that could change the realities in 2027; that Peter Obi is not willing to be on the ballot. And that is not even an option anymore. Nigerians own Peter Obi as much as he owns himself. He is now a national asset.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fate of Nigeria hangs in the balance. Most of the Nigerian masses desirous of real leadership change, regardless of their social stratification, education, religion, tribe, or political affiliation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe electoral mandate stolen in 2023 was not just Peter Obi\u2019s votes and victory. It was the votes Nigerians freely cast for Obi and for the betterment of Nigeria and her posterity. The second time around, such votes will double and will be amply protected, even with blood and lives. That much is certain. That\u2019s the present national mindset.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will be protected and will count. Those who think or say otherwise only unmask their nai\u0308vete\u0301 or profound fears of the prospects of a Peter Obi presidency. Despite all imponderables relative to 2027, I\u2019ll only state by way of advice, support, and affirmation; Run, Peter, Run. Let history take its rightful course,\u201d he advised.<\/p>\n

He also concluded that Peter Obi\u2019s mistake in 2023 may have been because he refused to discuss and seek the blessings of those who believe they own Nigeria, a reason he won overwhelmingly but was denied victory.<\/p>\n
