Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has finally upheld the resolutions of the Benue State House of Assembly to suspend three public officials in the state.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST recalls that the assembly had passed a resolution to suspend the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Mr. Maxwell Ogiri, Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mrs. Grace Adagba and the Executive Secretary of the Benue State Lottery Commission, Mr. Michael Uper all for the period of one month each.<\/p>\n<p>The governor\u2019s delay in upholding the resolution had led to a face-off between the two arms of the government.<\/p>\n<p>However, in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Tersoo Kula, Alia approved the suspension of the three officials.<\/p>\n<p>The statement reads, \u201cin line with the resolutions passed by the House, His Excellency affirms the following:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspension of the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Mr. Maxwell Ogiri, for a period of one month, effective from today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspension of the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mrs. Grace Adagba, for a period of one month, effective from today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe immediate suspension of the Executive Secretary of the Benue State Lottery Commission, Mr. Michael Uper for the period of one month, effective from today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGovernor Alia reiterates his unwavering commitment to the rule of law, due process, and the principles of separation of powers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe commends the House of Assembly for exercising its constitutional responsibilities and assures the people of Benue State that his administration remains dedicated to transparency, accountability, and good governance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Governor urges all affected institutions to ensure seamless continuity of service delivery during this period and calls on the people of Benue State to continue to support the government\u2019s efforts towards building a state that works for all\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
