Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced corrective moves against students it accused of using police uniform in activities to mark their \u2018Costume Day\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Command explained the situation in a press statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, \u201cThe Adamawa State Police Command came across some very disturbing pictures on social media showing students wearing police and military uniforms and engaging in an indecent and unacceptable manner, portraying police with a bad image, under the guise of a costume day celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Command said the unauthorized use of police uniforms is a criminal offence punishable under the law and that such reckless acts not only undermine the integrity of the security agencies but also mislead the public and will not be tolerated.<\/p>\n

\u201cConsequently, the Commissioner of Police, CP Morris Dankombo, has directed a full-scale investigation into the matter with a view to bringing all those involved to book,\u201d the Command stated.<\/p>\n

It warned individuals, groups, and institutions to desist forthwith from unauthorized use of security uniforms.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone found engaging in such illegal practice will be decisively dealt with in accordance with the law,\u201d the Command added.<\/p>\n
